Meet Abbie

Available by appointment only in Oxford or Cleveland. In-network with BCBS.

I believe that our greatest hurts and greatest healing can be found in the context of relationship; therefore, I work primarily from a Carl Rogers perspective which states that the most fundamental requirement of effective counseling is for the client and counselor to develop a strong therapeutic bond. I seek to know my clients as individuals apart from their problems. I strive to be a warm, accepting, and empathetic presence in their lives to create a safe space for verbal processing. I also use a Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy approach which strives to change behavior by identifying negative thought patterns that are inhibiting ideal functioning. Finally, I work to address family-of-origin issues that have impacted the client’s view of self and others.

My experience has primarily been in the outpatient clinical setting. I have worked as a therapist at the University of Mississippi, Region 6 Life Help, and at Leland Medical Center. I opened my private practice in Cleveland during the summer of 2018 and recently opened a second Delta Counseling Services office in Oxford, MS.

When I am not working, I enjoy traveling as much as possible, jogging around Cleveland, spending time with my daughters, and eating my husband’s superb cooking.

Meet Amber

Available on Wednesdays by appointment only in Cleveland. In-network with BCBS.

I am very excited to be on board with Delta Counseling! I am continually amazed that I have the privilege of sitting with and walking with clients through some of the highest highs and lowest lows life can offer. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings from New Orleans, LA to Greenwood, MS in both community mental health facilities and within private practices.

I am trained and engage a variety of therapeutic techniques and have a trauma-informed approach to counseling. I would love to partner with you as you navigate your life story by providing a safe atmosphere that allows you the space and time to feel seen, heard, validated, and empowered.

Minus the five years I was studying in New Orleans, I have called the Mississippi delta "home" for my entire life. I graduated from Delta State University and now frequently partner with my husband working with students from DSU's and MDCC's campuses. I love to read, travel, spend time with my family, and do life with my community.

I look forward to working with you!

I have provided treatment in various settings both at inpatient treatment centers and private practice. In my practice, I strive to provide a safe, nurturing environment to assist clients in achieving their chosen goals and become their most authentic selves.

I believe the therapeutic process is a collaborative approach that allows clients to be supported while processing difficult issues and emotions. I incorporate a combination of holistic treatment approaches including Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR, cognitive behavioral theoretical perspectives and mindfulness practices which have been proven effective in the treatment of numerous disorders, including but not limited to PTSD (developmental / complex trauma), depression and anxiety.

My family and I moved to Cleveland, MS in 2019. The moments I cherish most are spending time with my husband, daughter and black lab. My family is energized by traveling and the outdoors. I also have a deep love for all things cooking which includes preparing new dishes, watching cooking documentaries and reading recipe books.

I am passionate about bringing the best quality care to my clients and am dedicated to their growth and healing. I truly look forward to servicing our community through Delta Counseling Services.

Meet MK

Available Monday-Thursday by appointment only in Cleveland. MK is a provisionally licensed therapist working under the supervision of Abbie Robinson. She cannot bill to insurance at this time. Clients must do private pay, but she offers sliding scale discounts based on income and family size.

I strongly believe that the counseling relationship is both equal and collaborative, and I am honored that clients choose to sit with me and allow me to work with them throughout the facets of their lives. I strive to provide empathic and nonjudgmental care for adolescents, adults, couples, and families that present with the problems, situations, beliefs, orientations, and experiences they may bring into the session.

I started my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS in the beginning of 2011. After moving to Cleveland in the Summer of 2012, I continued my training and completed my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Delta State University in 2014. Due to the fortune of being educated in two different master’s programs, I have experience serving in many different areas of mental health counseling. These areas include (but are not limited to): marriage and family counseling; anxiety, depression, mood disorders; grief and loss; trauma; and any major life adjustments. I have experience working with college-aged students, in ministry settings, school settings with exceptional children and their families, crisis circumstances, and marriage and family counseling.

When I am not working, my husband and three children keep me busy. As a family, we enjoy the outdoors and traveling when we can. I love to cook, ride my Peloton, and listen to great music. After over a decade in Cleveland, I am so excited to serve our community in this setting. I am passionate about providing quality mental health care in our Delta town through Delta Counseling Services!

Meet Virginia

Available Tuesday and Thursday by appointment only in Cleveland. In-network with BCBS.

I understand that life often brings us to places we never expected to be without any direction on what to do when we get there. Using an integrated framework, I seek to provide safety, guidance, and space for clients to do the work they need to do. My goal is that each client leaves feeling a little lighter than when they came in.

With experience in working with a variety of client needs, I enjoy working with issues such as trauma, anxiety and depression, grief, adjustment issues, and a range of mental health disorders. I am trained in EMDR therapy and have experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

I believe that life is meant to be well lived and that health can happen despite your past. Whatever has happened to you is not okay, but you can be.

A Mississippi girl through and through, my husband and I landed in the Delta in 2018. Since then we have expanded our family by adding our four children and an occasional pet goldfish. I enjoy traveling, cooking, and spending time with my family.
